"True Haunting" By Edwin F. Becker

I just finished reading "True Haunting" By Edwin F. Becker and I have to say I found it very interesting to read. While it's easy and quick to read, it is very well written; the fear and frustration that Ed and Marsha Becker experienced while dealing with the home that the bought is clear. If you would like to read into what the book is about, please click here.

While the story is primarily told from Ed's side (considering he is the author of the book), he expresses Marsha's experiences and fear very well. I think that the book is very well written and I highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in researching the paranormal or is having something going on in their home. This book shows the struggles a family can have in regards to coming out to family and/ or friends about their home possibly being haunted. Sure we see people on TV with haunted homes and business' but these TV shows never really discuss or show the struggle of having to find help or come out to family or the comments of people saying that you are crazy and you're just getting used to living in your new home. While I do believe that in most cases paranormal experience IS just a case of getting used to a new place or not thinking through logical explanations. If there are allot of power lines near your home, the energy from that can affect the human brain and body and cause paranormal activity (it can also increase activity as well if the home truly is haunted). Also, if there is a carbon monoxide leak somewhere in your home or business, that can also cause people to believe that are having paranormal experiences.

One of the things that got me thinking in this book is that the exorcism that was performed on the home at the time had failed. Mainly because exorcisms don't work on spirits, they only work on demons. While there was supposedly an evil entity at this home, that doesn't mean that it was a demon. I took notice that at this time, at least according to the book, the beckers never tried to rid the ghosts other than with the exorcism, which by today's standards (at least in my mind) is kind of odd. While I do think that there are spirits that can't be driven out of a home (although I don't think it's always necessary), I find it interesting that the Becker's didn't try another route in regards to ridding the home of the spirits. The paranormal was still very taboo at this time and wasn't openly discussed as it is today though. So it is very possible that the paranormal investigation team they had in to look at the home didn't know any other way of ridding the home because it's possible the team had no one else to consult with and brainstorm other ideas. Paranormal investigation has come along way both in regards to research and becoming more socially acceptable, especially over the last 10 years than it did at the time the Becker's were having their experiences. While there is still a lot of disagreements and misunderstandings, it is a lot easier to figure out how to deal with paranormal activity in your home today.

Hi again, So I wanted to talk to you all about the demon(s) that have attacked and tormented me for months on end. I remember one night when my spirit guide warned me that they were coming, I thought she was being silly and ignored her warnings. That’s when the nightmares began, the same dream over and over again; a wolf type figure with red eyes telling me it was going to hurt me. I let this go on for a few months, then one night I woke up; I couldn’t move it was like someone or something was sitting on me. Between a few friends we came up with a few ideas of what it was that was attacking/tormenting me.

A few months after determining the few things that it could possibly be, I somehow became possessed by this demon figure; not once, not twice... 3 times. several times happened during webcam sessions with my friend and co-blogger Emily Griffin.
After these possessions that happened, I finally somehow banished the demon, or so I had thought. I still occasionally sense the demon outside my window, but it cannot seem to pass through into my room anymore.

Life with Alex Rodregez

Around the middle of July of 2012 I began to experience something paranormal, it started out small like knocking and then one night in august I heard it. Someone was talking to me, it was a little girl asking me for help. I told her I wished for her to leave and she told me that she could not do that. I learned at that time that she was my spirit guide (Yes I know strange that a little girl be my spirit guide?) which I now would not know what to do without her.

We had several ideas of what it could have been or who it could have been, the first idea we had was it could have been a demon which is why we tried to cast the bitch out (didn't work too well on that note).
then we thought it was my fathers mother (AKA my grandmother who I didn't have a close relationship with), she passed away about 2 years ago. We thought it was her because of type of activity that was going on.

Then I started getting mental images of a young girl in my room, she wore a white sundress with brown or black hair and blue eyes. She was around 6 or 7 years old, and she was about hip high on me. I did some research and discovered that she died of T.B. back in the 18 hundreds with her sister Sylvia and her parents.
Sylvia is very bitter about the way their lives ended and tends to take it out on those around her, she made several attempts at tormenting me but was unsuccessful at these attempts.

Alex (My spirit guide) is still with me to this day, in fact she says hi but will not appear to see you any time soon as she is very shy. But know she is watching you even if she doesn't show herself to you.

Welcome to E.R. Paranormal

Blog entry by: Emily Griffin

Welcome to our new blog, E.R. Paranormal! Rebecca and I have been discussing starting this blog for a few months now and we are very excited to finally be launching it. I’ve had a passive interest in the paranormal since I was about 16 (mostly just watching various paranormal T.V. Shows like most people do) but I’ve but I’ve become seriously interested in it about a year ago while watching “Paranormal State” and started doing my own research. I also have a desire to start my own paranormal team and help educate others in regards to the paranormal. So for me, this is that start of hopefully something big!

I’ve always been one to want to help others somehow and to make a difference in someone’s life in some way. Some people I know say I have but I don’t know, how can one know for sure? Regardless, My passion for wanting to help others deal with their paranormal experiences and to educate other’s on investigation safety, along with many other aspects of the paranormal started when I started to watch “Paranormal State” on Netflix after the show had just finished their final season. I learned through the Penn. State Paranormal Research Society (now just Paranormal Research Society (PRS)) that there is more to “Ghost hunting” than just going into an old abandoned building and harassing spirits for shits and giggles. I never knew that it was more than looking like an idiot on camera trying to get a ghost to somehow make it known by appearing as a mist or knocking on the wall. I learned that normal people can be scared shitless because a spirit has been bothering them in their own home. A child can’t sleep at night because of a witch in the closet. A family is driven out of their own home because of a demon. Whatever the reason, people don’t know what to do in regards to the paranormal and are scared.  People are scared and PRS taught me that you can help people come to terms, help them banish the spirit, reclaim their homes or business’ or whatever needs to be done for the particular case. It’s more than wanting to prove spirits exist. I don’t need to prove to myself or other’s that ghosts, demons, angels, fairies, Fae and elementals exist to anyone. Can I give the reasons for why I believe in these things? Yes but I’m not here to change anybody’s mind, just here to provide the information that I have learned and what I believe to be true.

I wanted to start this blog because I want to share what I have learned and what I will learn in regards to the Paranormal. I am Roman Catholic, so in some cases I will come from a Catholic perspective but I will do my best to do my research in regards to other faiths. You as the reader are more than welcome to disagree with what I post on here. Discussions and constructive criticism is always a positive thing.  I am not claiming to be an expert by any means, I’m far from it. This blog is going to be a process for me to be a part of my learning process and my experiences.

I have had a few paranormal experiences of my own but I’ve only been freaked out a couple times. I have never had a negative experience that I recall, unless you count the usual “monster under the bed” phase from when we are all children. Despite only having minor experiences, they have in their own way played a part in my interest in the paranormal. So, sharing my experiences and knowledge means allot to me and I want to share that with you. I hope you follow me on this journey.

I don’t want to make this post too terribly long, so I am going to wrap it up here. I am very excited about the future of this blog and what is to come.

Do what you will, Harm none,
Emily Griffin
